Overseas bank and fund compliance teams routinely ask for a certified true copy of the passport bio page, certified by a person the law recognises. In Thailand that is a Notarial Services Attorney.

The attorney compares the copy against the original booklet in front of you, then adds the certification wording, date, signature, seal and register number — so the recipient can trace the act. A self-signed 'true copy' is not accepted by foreign compliance teams.

The fee is THB 800 per passport and the appointment takes about 30 minutes. If several institutions each need an original set, tell us the count so separate certificates are issued.

Frequently asked questions

Can you certify from a photo I send?

No. The attorney must sight the physical booklet, so either come to the office or book an on-site visit.

Can visa and entry stamps be included?

Yes — tell us which pages in advance; still THB 800 for the same booklet.

How long is the certificate valid?

It certifies the date of sighting. Recipients usually set their own 3–6 month freshness rule, so check their policy.

Are foreign passports accepted?

Yes, Thai and foreign passports alike; the certificate is issued in English.

Do I need consular legalisation next?

Only if the recipient asks for it. We can file with Consular Affairs and quote the government fee separately.

Can someone else attend for me?

A copy certification needs no signature from you, but the original booklet must be presented by the person holding it.
